I'd wear my bathing suit 24x7x365, if I could.
Really. If Canada were more like Curacao, I would do this. I would meet all of my clients in some combination of flowery, flowy yoga pants, or jeans, halter top (or long-sleeve scuba top), colourful satin cover up and slip-ons optional.
Because a long time ago, I followed my watery wonders and realized my internal "home" is anywhere beside water.
From our backyard, to Northern Ontario, to Curacao, to the shower, the relaxing and sensuous lifestyle of poolside living brings my soul ALIVE. And that's a good thing for everyone.
The day I realized that water and water related destinations and imagery make up my emotional design essentials...is the day my home(s) became my true resort castles.
The first home that I built (in St. Jacobs, Ontario)? Bahamas feeling destination: island rattan furniture, sea-foam wall colours, and my Caribbean Sea blue paintings. It was the beginning of my expressions of self love that I could share with my guests. (And eventually the world...my vibe and art sold my home 8 years later.)
Fast forward to today - my family - Ron (the love of my life, aka "babycakes") and Scarlett No'Hara, our hairless Chinese Crested baby girl - and I, are grateful to live in the historic vibe of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. But I'm MOST grateful, I confess, to our pool and how our backyard is surrounded by century tall trees and that I can float on my back at any given time of day or night and watch (and hear) many species of birds fly high via their migrations to the rare wetlands and Grand River. Water. Pool reflections. I call our home's interior style "Beach House Meets Artist Studio Meets Motorcylce Man's Den." All three of us have our feeling destination essentials reflected in our home. And from the moment I walk in to any and every room. My heart is full. My soul excited. My spirit calmed.
This is what I want for you.
And from this full heart to yours, I create fine art and design colourful print collections to help you express your design essentials. But mostly...I wrote the Ultimage Art Guide: My Art Planner tools to help simplify the key steps for “sparking your space” with art. Download My Art Planner here.
